Let's clear something up here since people want to jump to conclusions. WuKuN is a former staff member of TLR. He jumped on our Teamspeak just to throw insults at me and the other head staff in my channel. He admitted to DDoSing our server and something was said about "getting people not to play here". I banned him. Why did I ban him? He wasn't here to legitimately play. He was here to cause drama. He then returned with a new identity and IP address since he was using a VPN. He tells me that he's just here to "talk to some old friends" and that if I ban him he will just keep coming back. I'm feeling a little lenient, so I let him go up into the channel that some of his friends are in. I'm told not long after by someone else that he's talking about DDoSing. Some people are telling me he should be banned, and I'm on the verge of doing it. WuKuN then has the audacity to send me money over PayPal with a note about how this is his "apology". I refunded his money and banned him immediately, because the way I see it, he's just trying to pay for a way out of a ban. To the friends of WuKuN, I am so sorry that he thinks he can just come onto our Teamspeak and act like a complete cunt and expect that he won't be banned.

Following the update on faction whitelisting, we are in search of someone who feels that they are capable of holding the Major position on BLUFOR and leading the faction. The Major will be supervising the entire NATO occupational force in Takistan and as such, a level of commitment and responsibility will be required. They will have to oversee the creation of procedures and protocols, manage the membership and promotions within NATO, in addition to liaising with the staff team. Responsibilities will be delegated down the chain of command as required. Ideally, someone to hold this position would have similar experience from another Life or Milsim community. If you are interested in fitting this role, send me a private message here on the forums or send an email to [email protected]. Please put effort and detail in what you write and include information about who you are, why you would fit into the position, what your plans are for NATO, and any experience or qualifications you have. Thanks for reading, I hope to be receiving some qualified candidates in my inbox soon. Feel free to send recommendations my way if you know someone that is interested in the position.

So far, ive lost to many vehicles and troops due to the indepts camping on hills and locking on then disspearing for an hour, waiting till we bring something else and blowing that up aswell. I'm tired of It and it should either be removed or restricted to war-time only

-1 Basically the same as Complexity. London and the rest of the Australian staff team was nothing but a nightmare on RISE. She got admin then proceeded to fuck off and do nothing
  5. 2 points
-1 Manipulative, two-faced, rarely did help rooms, threatened to quit staff for not getting her own way, her own staff region complained about how she ran it and had issues with her.

Hi everyone, Today at our staff meeting we went over the results of the community survey and have made decisions on faction whitelisting per the majority votes. BLUFOR and OPFOR will have a full ranking structure and chain of command, however players who are not whitelisted will be able to play in public slots that have limited equipment available to them. Faction qualifications will exist independent of ranks and will be instated for heavily armoured ground vehicles and attack-capable air vehicles. PMCs will be whitelisted to qualified players, however we will not restrict them to registered Private Military Companies as it did not receive as much support in the survey. Having Private Military Companies in addition to independent contractors is something we will be looking into for the future, however. BLUFOR 50% voted for "BLUFOR needs to have a full ranking system and chain of command" 36% voted for "BLUFOR needs to be whitelisted to qualified players" 14% voted for "BLUFOR should not be whitelisted" BLUFOR controls North Takistan and will mainly consist of NATO, so players will be able to access equipment and uniforms from various NATO countries. The ranks here are based off the US Army, however they are not 100% accurate as we have pulled a few out for simplicity. Because NATO's force in Takistan isn't that of an entire military, the cut-off rank at the top will be Major. Commissioned Officers Major Captain First Lieutenant Second Lieutenant Officer Candidate Non-Commissioned Officers Sergeant Major Master Sergeant Staff Sergeant Sergeant Corporal Enlisted Members Specialist Private First Class Private There will be a small subfaction of United Nations that will have their own goals, capabilities, and equipment however we have not decided how they will work just yet. OPFOR 40% voted for "OPFOR needs to have a full ranking system and chain of command" 36% voted for "OPFOR needs to be whitelisted to qualified players" 24% voted for "OPFOR should not be whitelisted" OPFOR controls South Takistan and they mainly represent the Takistan Liberation Army. They are a puppet to Russia and therefore receive assistance and equipment from them. We have based their ranks off of the Russian Army. The Russian titles will be used in text, however for pronunciation purposes we have included their English equivalents for people to use when addressing them. The initial consensus among staff was that we weren't going to do a comprehensive command structure for OPFOR, but after seeing the work Kane has accomplished himself with the ranking and training he's done while unofficially leading the faction, we decided to go for it. Officers Polkóvnik (Colonel) Mayór (Major) Kapitán (Captain) Stárshiy Leytenánt (Senior Lieutenant) Leytenánt (Lieutenant) Mládshiy Leytenánt (Junior Lieutenant) Enlisted Members Starshiná (Sergeant Major) Stárshiy serzhánt (Senior Sergeant) Serzhánt (Sergeant) Mládshiy Serzhánt (Junior Sergeant) Yefréytor (Private First Class) Ryadovóy (Private) Summary We have not decided yet how we will be appointing initial leadership for both BLUFOR and OPFOR. They will likely go to who we feel is qualified and capable of liaising with the staff team, however it's also possible that some sort of voting campaign will be held. We're glad to be taking this step forward to increase roleplaying and immersion for the militarized factions. Feel free to reply with any feedback (positive or negative) you may have. What do you guys feel about making it a rule where you can't mute your sound or be in another Team speak while playing a faction the requires to be in the appropriate channels. It makes it hard to communicate with other people in your faction, also so you don't spam side chat or global.

The player in this video was confirmed by an admin to be Abu Jasem based on same weapons and timing of kills and other officers seeing him with thermals and the officer who died to him being the one shooting at him in the video with a humvee crow. Other blufor could not see any vehicle in the area, and me + an admin tested bringing a vehicle over there and looking at it from my location, no matter which way you drove and if it was park you'd be able to see it. I doubt a vehicle could not be seen by 3+ people. I have 20 ping so I'm 99.9% sure it was not desync as-well as he did not lay down because there was no animation, just teleported away. I watched that spot for 5 minutes after this recording cut off and no vehicle moved from that area. I want everyone to see this, not just staff/specific staff members. Mind you I have 20-25 ping on the server. Before I zoomed in, you can see he has no issues moving or anything. But then he turns into a broken flip book. (Right side of scope)

There are so many people who want independent removed, I believe that if independent was removed it would improve roleplay by a lot There would always be roleplay situations and independent would ruin it We only need terrorist civilians

Some suggestions I've had stuck in my head for a while. Trying to get these all posted before I have to leave my computer. No particular order - OPFOR should not be allowed at the BLUFOR cap-zone, under "covert ops", before declaring war: this is annoying, and quite frankly, fucking cheap. Countless times has war been declared and OPFOR is already at all 3 capture points. These points are captured within seconds, and the countdown for victory begins within less than a minute of war being declared. I find it disgusting that this has happened with Staff being the majority of players on OPFOR. It's counter-productive for the entire war scenario. I suggest that there be a 5 minute wait-time before OPFOR/BLUFOR are allowed to capture zones, and there will be no OPFOR inside BLUFOR territory when war is declared. - Disable Bank Robbing when war is declared: Seriously, everything is a shit storm. It's not like BLUFOR even has a chance to take on the bank robber. - Encourage more ground fighting by reducing the price of lower-end land vehicles such as Humvee's, MTVRs, etc.: In war, everyone jumps for a jet or attack helicopter then everything goes South because air superiority and BLUFOR doesn't have Shoulder Launched AA. Fighting can go on forever if ground vehicles were more common, and aircraft less so. - Remove Checkpoint Rasman: Alright, this one is going to turn some heads. Rasman is such a shit show nowadays that all server activity goes there. There is very little civilian presence in Rasman; you will have the odd person selling Resources, going to buy Licenses, or going to buy a heli. That's it. Everyone else is there to cause trouble and it takes so much resources from BLUFOR that nothing else can get done. Get rid of CP Rasman and Cops might be able to go more places, and maybe we can have some more role-play. - Encourage more legal activity: Seriously - up the return investment for doing resources or other things. This will get people moving around, adding more possibility for role-play. - Get more traffic going between North & South: Make a second Gun-Shop in the South, put certain resources in the South, sell certain high value things in the South, etc. Get people moving, it gives OPFOR something to do, it gives Indeps something to do. etc. - Make high powered weapons less accessible: Snipers are fucking annoying. They're deadly, and there is too many of them to be successfully dealt with. BLUFOR/OPFOR should be able to get high powered weaponry a little bit easier than Civs/Indeps. They should be a uncommon occassion; not always over Rasman. That's all for now. More to come.

I doubt this is ping issues. That he can clearly shoot a rocket perfectly at a vehicle then HAPPEN to lag and just disappear? Aswell as before I zoom in you can see him have no issues running around.

I know, And i use the BMP3 alot now, However its not enough anymore, by the time you know where they are they already have got you. You can scan the hills all you want and come up with nothing and then the next second your bmp is gone. And also the smoke hardly works, its only saved me once and its because i was going down hill

Wookie, Id like to see you try then, The rocket follows us to our postion, It isnt like a helicopter where i can flare it off and its not a 2shot kill. They will hide 1.5km away and fire from there, If you are unable to see this then your underestimating the launcher

Personally I disagree with requiring all blufor, opfor, independent, and pmc to be unmute in teamspeak. They have side chat for a reason if they really need to speak to someone then they can always poke the person without. Simple as that.

+1 From me. I feel like Kane would be an excellent staff member with the amount of hours he has put into this server and also following rules to the most part.
  20. 1 point
So basically I feel like rule number 5 for civilians should be changed to civilians must declare terror before using any type of bombing device. You could also make the point that the rule is good enough where it stands due to it stating suicide bombs. If you use a timed bomb in a suicide manner then you could argue the other way as well. Personally I feel like it should be changed to Civilians must declare terror before using bombs.

Going to have to give this a -1 for the time being. Due to some of the negative feedback of the other members of the community, and the lack of time spent on the server, I am reluctant to give a member of the community a staff rank after a single week. I do, however, wish you all the luck in this application and any future applications you make.
  22. 1 point
+1 to all of these but the one about CPR. Why? Because it’s fun to go in the building beside it with the little hole in the wall and kill blufor from it
  23. 1 point
I think that people should not be be allowed to mute sound but I don't think they should be required to be to be in their factions teamspeak channel. This is because there are cancerous people that you don't always want to talk to.

+1 Well done Gio. I vote for Kane to be Opfor Major. He knows what hes doing. Definitely deserves it.

+1 Has done a lot for the OpFor faction, perhaps he can do even more if he was to be staff

Personally, I'm going to stay neutral on this application for the time being. I love the amount of effort you have displayed on your staff application so it's a +1 on that part. The only problem that I see with you right now is that your new to the community and this was your first post. Now if I see you on more regularly then I would be willing to +1 your application right away. Abstained for the time being.

This will be the final response from staff regarding your ban appeal. As of right now your ban was justified and will not be lifted. As of now you are only banned on the TLX Arma 2 server, you may use our other services such as our website, discord, or TS3. Reasoning 1) You have received 2 strikes on your account before this 3rd offense happened. You should know these basic rules by now because in addition to the strikes you have received verbal warnings from staff. 2) You lied to the staff member handling the case claiming you did NOT steal the car. The only reason we found out is because a staff member went and checked the in-game vehicle number with your civ number. This thread will be locked to prevent further responses.

I'll chuck this one a +1. Fun to play with and doesn't cause any trouble. One of few to have decent experience with administrating ARMA 2 servers. Also, a good bonus that she has experience with longtime popular communities. Best of luck to you on your application.

It's pretty safe to say if any indep does the smart thing and puts up one or two AI on some Towable Mobile Igla Pods' then any air superiority in the South becomes almost impossible. Especially if those igla pods are well placed and defended. It might cost you alot, sure, but not as much as it'll cost OPFOR to pull out said aircraft.
  31. 1 point
Maybe you should talk to Abu.. He kills Tows all the time. Just because you only use a FAL and stay inside the town shouldn't have blufor limited. Blufor has always been on the receiving end of vehicles being moved to ML/War Time. Just play a little smarter and stay outta sight
  32. 1 point
+1 as long as the crime can be justified roleplay i.e no robbing gas stations
  33. 1 point
-1 As a Blu/Op player,I know the Patrol channels get really cancerous really fast. It's why I spend most of my time in my friends channel. If it's important enough for the whole team,it can go in side chat. Muting is almost essential for RP situations as well. Having people shout down your ear whilst you're searching a vehicle at CPR can get out of hand real fast,I know from experience
  34. 1 point
-1 u disrespect a lot of staff and players, this kind of behavior is not tolerated here nor it ever will be. You need to fix ur attitude!
  35. 1 point
Even if it sounds terrible it still works, typing can really help too, but I am pretty sure people have a reason for muting themselves, why force them? Forcing people to unmute themself is not gonna make blufor any better, you would know if you had atleast more than 1 year playing in this community.

@ComradeCorbyn{Socialist} More often than not the PMC's are robbing the damn thing or providing overwatch for the civs performing the robbery LOL. ... I don't know about you @canadianbacon22, but if im robbing the bank, im looking to steer clear of a shootout and focus more on getting that money out of Rasman. The loot is my priority as a burglar, not the thrill of the gunfight. There is technically nothing stopping anyone from joining civ and guarding the bank, and as you say @Lex_The_Great, the RP is to be created by the players(when does that happen?), but to be honest I have never witnessed players actively guarding the bank apart from Blufor. If this has been tried and tested in the past then by all means disregard my suggestion. I was unaware its been implemented before.

You're not being punished, you're being challenged. BLUFOR and OPFOR's challenge is the constant insurgent threat, and your challenge is the occasional road block.
  38. 1 point
I'd like to motion against this suggestion. Give me ONE good reason a country should allow terrorists into its borders willingly? At the moment your options are to subtly ask a faction to open the gates. Maybe you pay a civilian to request access to go mine diamonds or something, and take advantage of that situation. Let's say youre a civilian trying to make a lot of easy money driving heroin across the border, you'd have to remain hidden so you use the designated Border Breaches on the map. Sure it takes a little extra manpower to have one truck unload at the breach and pass it to a waiting truck on the otherside, but its risk/reward. You can fly across, thats always an option. For those of you who are a little on the cheaper side, Bicycles and Motorcycles will fit through easily. You are not locked out because a border is closed. There are ALWAYS options, get creative.

I have a few issues with that. First, some people are just fucking cancer. There are certain members of BLUFOR and OPFOR I cannot stand. I have certain people on this server I work well with. We go to a private TS channel, load up in a GPK or something of the sort and go slay bodies. That wouldn't be possible in a normal TS3 Patrol Channel for a few reasons. One, people keep talking over you and when they think they have a priority situation the exclaim "Shut the fuck up, I'm talking". The other thing that happens is that people just go off and do their own thing, and when you call for backup over TS3 no one arrives. When I am just in another TS3 channel, I can call for backup and have it arrive within minutes. Second is my opinion on the muting issue. ArmA II default direct chat is atrocious, and is either loud or quiet as fuck. Having ten other people yelling in TS3 isn't conducive to a proper conversation, and may lead things astray. While yes, muting TS3 without working with a group is a bad idea if it is for a long period of time, but simply muting it to handle a civilian isn't the worst idea ever. In short, I would just recommend adding a rule regarding mic spam in side such as "Noise considered to be excessively loud or trollish in nature in side chat, or repeating the same text or voice message over and over, will end up with a temporary ban". -1

(Giving my 5 cents towards the scenario) You were intentionally waiting for me to repair the bike and wait for me to unlock it at Civilian Spawn. As @Captain said above "If you take something from someone else, it is stealing. It is against the servers RULES." It wouldn't have mattered if it was a $850 bicycle or a $500,000,000 aircraft, the fact of the matter is is that you stole something from within the safe zone. I did give you ample time to return the bike before i took it to a helpdesk but you CHOSE to flee towards Rasman.

When playing BLUFOR or OPFOR you already need to be in the correct channel. As for this suggestion, I will give a +1, as we do need people to be more cooperative in Teamspeak and not use Side Channel
