Unmute Teamspeak

Recommended Posts

What do you guys feel about making it a rule where you can't mute your sound or be in another Team speak while playing a faction the requires to be in the appropriate channels. It makes it hard to communicate with other people in your faction, also so you don't spam side chat or global.

I have a few issues with that. First, some people are just fucking cancer. There are certain members of BLUFOR and OPFOR I cannot stand. I have certain people on this server I work well with. We go to a private TS channel, load up in a GPK or something of the sort and go slay bodies. That wouldn't be possible in a normal TS3 Patrol Channel for a few reasons. One, people keep talking over you and when they think they have a priority situation the exclaim "Shut the fuck up, I'm talking". The other thing that happens is that people just go off and do their own thing, and when you call for backup over TS3 no one arrives. When I am just in another TS3 channel, I can call for backup and have it arrive within minutes. Second is my opinion on the muting issue. ArmA II default direct chat is atrocious, and is either loud or quiet as fuck. Having ten other people yelling  in TS3 isn't conducive to a proper conversation, and may lead things astray. While yes, muting TS3 without working with a group is a bad idea if it is for a long period of time, but simply muting it to handle a civilian isn't the worst idea ever.

In short, I would just recommend adding a rule regarding mic spam in side such as "Noise considered to be excessively loud or trollish in nature in side chat, or repeating the same text or voice message over and over, will end up with a temporary ban".

Pretty sure we want people unmuted so we CAN work together.  + Side Chat sounds terrible.

Even if it sounds terrible it still works, typing can really help too, but I am pretty sure people have a reason for muting themselves, why force them? Forcing people to unmute themself is not gonna make blufor any better, you would know if you had atleast more than 1 year playing in this community.

People have a choice, forcing a rule that makes you have to be unmuted on ts would be very annoying.

You aren't forced to play with the team of your faction.

-1 As a Blu/Op player,I know the Patrol channels get really cancerous really fast.

It's why I spend most of my time in my friends channel.

If it's important enough for the whole team,it can go in side chat.

Muting is almost essential for RP situations as well. Having people shout down your ear whilst you're searching a vehicle at CPR can get out of hand real fast,I know from experience

When playing BLUFOR or OPFOR you already need to be in the correct channel.

As for this suggestion, I will give a +1, as we do need people to be more cooperative in Teamspeak and not use Side Channel

I think that people should not be be allowed to mute sound but I don't think they should be required to be to be in their factions teamspeak channel. This is because there are cancerous people that you don't always want to talk to.

Personally I disagree with requiring all blufor, opfor, independent, and pmc to be unmute in teamspeak. They have side chat for a reason if they really need to speak to someone then they can always poke the person without. Simple as that.

The Problem is that people don't always respond in side chat and side chat can be buggy. I'm sure you have seen it, someone is talking in side chat and it is constantly breaking up. don't know if it does like because they are far away from you or what but it does make it really hard to communicate using side chat. On top of that sometimes you are talking to a civ or someone in direct and need to talk to a teammate to ask a question or ask for backup but it can be annoying to switch back and forth and sometimes you don't have enough time. in other similar situation you can be messaging in global and forget to change back to side and accidentally talk in global (This happens to me quite often).
