Too many cops

Recommended Posts

I find the issue that at some points there is just a terrible ratio of cops to other factions, i logged on today and saw 12 cops, 3 opfor, 6 indeps, 4 civs, i really dont htink this is a good ratio seeing as all the cops were in armored vehicles, making it so you cant do anything without getting blown up every time you declare terror or cap a gang area, i think there should be a ratio that stops too many cops from joining.

+1, I also think there should be a ratio either server forced or rule that keeps the ratio fair, it was redickulous about 50mins ago, 12 cops, 5 indie, 3 civs. Ideally this will get some of the people that would normally play cop to play other factions like opfor, civ or indie.

Issue is that with so many slot for indie we now have to beg for TS sweeps in hopes for a slot. That and its a bummer when the staff slots only one open but is a use at your own risk. Not fun having to disconnect so that a staff can take it over. If anything add 2-3 more slots and have the staff slot ruled to be left open for staff only.

No one apart from staff should be using that slot anyway...i mean, its clearly marked. I will see about possibly adding more slots.

I only ever have after having it cleared by one of the staff who are currently on. But this was before we had more staff coming to the indie side. But that would be amazing even if only an additional 2 slots.

+1 I can see it being a good idea to lower the amount of possible Blufor and Opfor slots open to just anyone (say- Remove one of the 5 man squad slots, or at least make them for supporters to have a place to go if the team is 'full'?) This has always been an issue, because people like playing the faction that fits with their nationality more, like how I will usually go Opfor, most people playing now tend to be English or American, and will usually with Blufor because they're composed of English and American soldiers? But that's neither here nor there to the fact that there is most definitely a problem. I may also remind you of how independent works; There are only a few indep slots because most people find the lack of rules and restraints 'fun', which isn't too dissimilar to the reason DayZ is so popular. It stands to reason taking cuts at the ability for people to play en masse would fix the situation, but for something like this there's no right or wrong answer.

Not sure how the system working, but on an Arma 2 Island Life server they had a system were if cops outnumbered civilians or a certain ratio, all cops would receive a 3 minute warning that someone (starting with the lowest ranks) needed to log off and how many.

If no one logged, lower ranks would be kicked/banned dependent on how many times they had broken this rule.

Don't know if this could be implemented seeing as how I barely understand the basics of Python but...

+1 too many blufor... half the server was blufor earlier today. The number of available slots needs to be lowered or actually increase the difficulty of the test. This brings me on to a different point: most of them don't know how to actually play and some of them straight up attempt RDM if you have a gun out at the checkpoint. This literally happened at least 10 times today (not to me but to others)

Yes, this is what I had in mind when I started this topic, it works well and also allows there to be enough space for a lot of cops when needed
