So this won't be short, TL:DR don't be a dick, new people want to play. Not being here long I bothered to lurk the forum after playing around for a bit. First off as a new person reading the rules I didn't think anyone would RP hardcore but hoped for a light atmosphere. Absolutely 0 going on here guys, people shoot me when I'm unarmed. Mind you it's not like I pocketed a pistol, I was absolutely unarmed and walked up and ask on my mic in direct chat "Have you seen my camel" (in reference we don't have a camel on the server and a pun on the animal as I play Indep). Dude at checkpoint stops day dreaming and turns around, shoots me in the face with a rifle. That's zero fun, then dude goes on to be like "Indep is KOS herp de derp". Now maybe if I strut up with an AK and tell you that you're an infidel get off my land you could be salty but I made a joke and got blasted. Another time I'm on a bicycle with a lee enfield and an Opfor in a Vodnik rolls down the middle of the road and hits me, ruins my bike, and swerves out of control. After he comes to a stop as I'm slowly riding away laughing thinking I was lucky to survive a drunk driving accident in the home country but my happy moment is cut short by being shot in the back from the CROW. This was done well into where the map clearly marks Indep territory and is well past whatever checkpoint was at the wall. I mention the checkpoint because the killer went on to say "admin says you can't go by the map" which I thought was a bit ludicrous but ok. There is also the problem of when the server is lowly populated people leave the border gates up all the time, lack of mobility is sorta lame. Maybe add a script for Indep to drop them but it takes a delayed time compared to when the Opfor or Bluefor use their own gates, even add an alert for the team who owns the check point? Prices for Indep are also very steep for limited effect against the Opfor and Bluefor heavy vehicles, as mentioned is several other posts we're severely at a disadvantage to attack helicopters, even more so when manned with AI gunners. In my short time on this server I've been turned off a lot of the time by use of heavy armor or air flying into Indep territory even up to the spawn nearly so the AI gun into it with their aimbot and rockets. I would suggest more restraint for using such things against poor new players who cant afford the gear to match vehicles let alone take on armored ones or aircraft. The AN2 is not a Mig, it's not taking down any helicopters, it's not doing much to armor, it's a YUGE target and it's hyper expensive. The community seems to be active, can we try and have some loose RP? I mean like if you see someone without guns maybe don't shoot them in the face right away? It doesn't matter who they are if they have no gun as a decent human being you should be able to let them dink around in peace until they do something creepy or get too close for comfort. You also have words to use before you make someone into pink mist, often times fun can be had from goofy exchanges. That's what made being on these types of servers great, the player interaction. The Indep also shouldn't all be treated as evil terrorists outright, as non-uniformed combatants we should be treated as civilians if unarmed and be allowed to go about our way, why can't we be recruited to do creepy stuff for either the Opfor or Bluefor? Ever think of having a local guide for those mountains or as an informant that could blend in? All this hostility and quick to pull trigger gaming is killing bigger levels of activity and intrigues to develop and grow. The teamspeak also seems to be neglected but is a great touch. These are just a few ideas, I apologize ahead of time to anyone who read this in it's full length and had to bare my rambling and minor comprehension of the English language.
