  1. When I was on the staff team before the server shut down we had issues with people RDMing civs in Rasman and claiming it to be a planned terrorist attack. In the end it was decided that the portion of the rule that mentions planned terrorist attacks only applies to accidentally killing civs while attempting to kill  Blufor. 

    I understand that it is realistic to plan a terror attack that targets civs without warning but you should remember that everyone wants to have fun on here. While it would be more realistic it would not be more fun for the player base. Allowing people to be able to steal bank info and access other players bank account would be realistic but it would not be enjoyable. In other words, just because something is realistic does not mean it should be allowed.

He also agreed that it was excessive for him to be on radar for that long. Also note that he did respond immediately when someone asked him a question so I don't think he was afk.

  3. +1 I have seen this a ton of wars and it makes it hard to enjoy if you cant even get to the flag without getting blown up. If you use artillery you can sit anywhere on the map and bomb any cap zone you want. Because of this it is impossible to find whoever is constantly bombing the zones. I was not in the most recent war but in the last 2 wars I participated in Blufor had at least 1 artillery bombing zones for the entire war.

    [Issue Summary] : Young had gone north in a dshkm uaz. I was TLA leader at the time and I told him to bring the armed vehicle back immediately and not to kill anyone under any circumstance. about 10 minutes later Young blew up ANC without any form of initiation and without permission from TLA command. When I asked him why he killed ANC he said that it was because ANC was camping Rasman with a TOW. Due to the fact that I had already warned him I gave him a 1 week strike and made him pay comp to ANC.

  5. I would agree with Smidge that it would be Fail RP. To start with, NATO should not be kidnapping Opfor, or anyone for that matter. NATO is an international peacekeeping organization. Kidnapping someone would have serious repercussions on the organization being allowed to stay in the country. Section 1 rule 8 states that you must "Role play at all times" so under this rule while you are playing as Blufor/NATO you must act how a real member of NATO would need to act. Secondly, under the same rule, using the jail system to teleport someone out of hostile territory into an area under your control would be VERY unrealistic and unfair to anyone attempting to stop you from escaping with their comrade. 

    On another note though, the best way to kidnap someone and transport them is to get a land rover and order them to get in the back gunner seat via the yellow ride in back words on the scroll menu. When they are in this seat you can transport them even if they are in a different faction. You should not that objectogedon will view the landrover as empty unless someone is in a normal seat as well.

    yep I have tried joining the channel first, Joining it after, launching teamspeak after I log into the server. I even downloaded the steam mod and launched the game with the TFR mod and the default server mods. and still nothing.


  8. TFR is no longer pulling me in when I log onto the server. Usually ill log on and ts will say error and that indicates that I am now in TFR but it stoped doing that so now I cant hear anyone or say anything myself.

     


  9. I had a few question on helicopters and how to initiate/ arrest someone who is in one.

    Firstly when you need to tell a helicopter to land how would you go about doing that? would they need to be in the air control channel and if they are not in it what do you do then?

    Secondly If I initiate on someone and they run to there heli and start the engine and I allowed to shoot them. in server rules, rule 3 says that you must incapacitate moving vehicles but if the heli did not take off yet it would not be moving and therefor not part of that rule. On top of this if you incapacitate a helicopter it would crash killing everyone in it.

    One more question I had that is not related to helicopter is that I was wondering if there is a base comp that players need to pay for RDM.

    They spawn where the basketball court is...the rest is just for processing/show. The Gate there is mainly to access those 4 towers in that section.

    I've tested it, you cannot jump that double wall.

    I was on the server last night and there was a single wall around the court not a double wall. I was jumping over it last night when I made this post.


  11. I have noticed that NONE of the helicopters can hold any items that are in your phone inventory. Even the Mi-290 cargo has 0/0 cargo space. This makes mining really slow. I would recommend making the Mi-290 cargo have 150 cargo space because it is about the same size as the box truck and the Mi-290 cargo specifically advertised as a cargo helicopter. I don't recommend giving the other helicopters inventory space because even with land vehicles the only ones that have cargo space are the trucks which were specifically built to hold stuff. I think this can be annoying but it encourages people to get trucks which I like and because the first truck only holds 150 it would mean most vehicles would only hold 30-50 at most and there would just be no point in taking the time to change every single vehicle for such a  small amount of space.


  12. so I just checked out the new jail and the prisoners can literally just jump over the gate with enhanced movement. there is barbed wire around the outer wall but there are still the two large red gates that the prisoners can just jump over. I would recommend making the outer wall by the gate taller or just make the inner prison wall larger so they can't hop over them. If prisoners can just jump out then it is a very poor prison.

When it comes out if they could be listed as minor or major that would be really helpful because under safezones rule 1 and 2 civilians can commit minor crimes in safe zones and law enforcement can arrest them in the safe zone for minor crimes. the rule itself lists drug/weapon dealing as examples of minor crimes but does not specify if stuff like drug possession or conspiracy to commit crime. In a case earlier today a guy messaged a NATO recruit asking him to leave the border open and "forget" to close it. I was notified of this so when I came across a guy in Faruz I asked him over direct to step out of his vehicle. after 20ish seconds I pulled him out and restrained him and checked his id found he was the guy so i searched him and his vehicle and found a bunch of meth. I then told him he would be arrested and started taking him to jail. When I arrested him I informed him about the rule and he argued that he was not selling/dealing the drugs. But in my mind a box truck full of meth would be position with intent and as i see it that would be a minor crime and therefor arrestable even in a safezone. 


  14. will there be a list of server side laws for TSF to enforce. I have been running with NATO a lot lately and we don't really what what guns or cloths are legal/illegal and we also don't know what punishments to hand out. Also in cases like murder how do we deal with them? We had a case earlier were a guy murdered another guy and he turned himself in and said that the guy tried robbing him and that that was why he killed him. We ended up deciding that he was telling the truth because he turned himself in but in the future how should we deal with these cases?


  15. I just wanted to know how promotions will work because I have been a recruit for over a week IRL. I have not seen any other TSF members on the last few days and I would like this faction to become more popular but if none of the members are online then the TSF wont get much publicity. This post is meant to both ask how to get a promotion and also to ask that the rest of TSF start playing a bit more. I have seen a lot of activity by NATO and would like just as much activity from TSF.

    You will need a pickax and about 10 water. The pickax will never break but when mining you use water a lot faster then normal.

  17. From the people who I have talking to about the arma 3 server I understand that most of the people playing it want a bit more RP then we commonly see on the Arma 2 server. With this in mind I would like a few RP based rules to be added.

    The first one I had in mind is that people would be required to value their lives. On the arma 2 server none values their lives and will always fight back even against impossible odds. I believe that if a player is at a major disadvantage should act accordingly and comply with commands. I understand that this could be hard to implement and enforce but if a player is outnumbered 3 to 1 it would make no sense for them to fight an obviously unwinable battle. From watching psisyn vids I have seen this type of rule work very well but I don't know how they implement and enforce it.

    The second rule I had in mind would require TSF/NATO to negotiate with a bank robber or any other robber before attacking. The negotiations could be called off by ether party if they feel that they are not going anywhere but once they are called off both sides must wait 10 seconds before shooting each other.  This could also apply with a suicide bomber if there are potential victims in the range of his bomb. Again I have seen this in some of PsiSyn's vids and I thought it would be lots of fun for both cops and criminals. 

    I understand that some of these might take time to find a good way to implement but I hope that we can at least give it a shot and if it doesn't work out we can always remove them.

So I have been playing on the arma 3 server for a while and I have found that the fastest way to make money is by mining for Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, and Diamonds at the large mine located at the top left hand side of the map. This mine will give you about the same amount as the diamond mine but with a MUCH shorter drive and a higher ratio of what you will keep. This is also faster then most drugs because it is a shorter distance to the processing and the selling location. Another Bonus of the large mine is that the mining, Processing, and selling location are all in the north so you will never need to cross the border.

    The gold bars that you mentioned can only be obtained by robbing the bank. If you wish to rob the bank you must get a blasting charge from rebel or TLA base in the south, plant the charge on the vault and defend the bank while you wait for the charge to go off. When robbing the bank you should remain aware of any TLA online because they will be waiting by the gold bars buyer in order to catch you and get the money for themselves. I would recommend making a deal with TLA or wait until none are online. You should also know that there must be at least 3 cops online to rob the bank and if there are no TSF online NATO can police the north and NATO has access to some heavilt armed and armored vehicles that you might have a hard time taking out of your own.

    Drugs are worth about the same price as most of the gemstones and the travel distance combined with them being illegal means that they are not quite worth the effort. The only exception to this would be meth or krocadile. Meth is worth a good deal more then most gemstones however I have heard that the processing lab has a chance of exploding and when you die from an explosion on the server you cannot be revived. If you are working with a partner or are willing to take the risk meth might be worth the extra effort. Krocadile is worth an INSANE amount but from what I have seen, there is no place to collect it and the place to process it is in the exclusion zone which is a KOS zone.

The TFR channel should be locked so that players can only enter when they are pulled into it after they load into the server because if they join the channel before the server they can hear anyone who is talking over the radio and this could lead to metagaming and on top of this they can talk in the channel and everyone can hear them. We have had a few people come into the channel just to troll the last few days and locking the channel would help prevent this in the future.


  21. I noticed that the AR-10 is 7.62 and even the lowest ranks of the TSF have access to it. I would Like this gun to be removed from Recruits because 7.62 is armor piercing and if even the lowest ranked TSF members can get an armor piercing fully automatic rifle, what in the point in getting an armored vehicle?
