  1. Hello before I start I just want to say that maybe you don't know me and maybe I am new to this server, but I am not new to Takistan life. In fact I have 450+ hours played on Takistan life server. And I know that this idea is probably work in progress and/or has been discussed thousands of times but just hear me out please. This server is dying slowly, the reason might be because people are getting bored. Let me explain, let's use the opfor/blufor example so you log in, you patrol, you guard the checkpoint, you go to kos zones, you capture a blufor/opfor zone, engage some criminals and independents and that is it, you do that over and over and over again. It gets boring after a while, why? Because there is no point in doing so, there is no reward for your actions and your bravery. I have no clue about running a community, but I have a big knowledge about running a faction and I know for a fact that without chain of command, ranks and units both opfor and blufor will have relatively low popularity. I was a pilot in VDV's air wing rank praporshchik. And I helped a lot with running that unit within opfor so I know what I'm talking about. And don't give me the power hungry or 12 year old examples, maybe we need some power hungry people to get those factions started, maybe we don't. With ranks and units people would have somthing to work towards and work for it. Without it both opfor and blufor are unorganized and divided, people don't know what to do, and many people are leaving this fancy server. So please just consider this, add ranks, make rules, rule books and organize training for blufor and opfor give every unit a role and orginize them. You might say that both blufor and opfor need to be kept simple and rank-less, but what fun would it be to play as those if there is no reward for anything you do and most of your actions are repetitive after a while. If you don't do something about it more and more people will start leaving, I saw that there are ranks on TS allready, if you need things such as rulebooks or training guide I would be happy to help, just please do somthing about it, I don't want to see this server die. And if there is a plan of action in place about this issue you better start it soon or there won't be anyone that will join anymore.   2. Blufor Ranking

    I feel that we should add rankings to blufor it would give blufor a purpose to man checkpoints and do patrol missions. It would increase role play and activity on the sever because people would be on ranking up instead of just sitting in a stryker and blowing up indeps all day. Its been in other severs and i think it would benefit the sever as whole. Im open to all suggestions.
  3. WAR TIME Suggestions

    FREE BUT LIMITED VEHICLES So i'm suggesting that OPFOR and BLUFOR vehicles should be FREE for both sides during WAR. But there would be a limited amount of vehicles so they can be used wisely by both forces agaisn't each other during a battle and not just spam jets or helicopters or ground vehicles etc.I do not really know how far can ARMA 2 OA Be modified but if this is a possibility it would be nice because money wouldn't actually matter when fighting instead, the people who are fighting agaisn't each other.The players would have to think a lot to make a decision if they should use it or save it for later in the WAR. Also most times, the people in each side tend to waste a LOT more money than what they get for winning a war which is 4 million. Forward Operating Base My another suggestion is that Forward Operating Bases A.K.A FOBs should be allowed to be made during WAR Time but not PEACE Time.They would be made by using the barricades that are available to both forces.It would be used as a temporary base for when the Friendly Forces (Depending on which side you are in if you are OPFOR or BLUFOR) start pushing deeper into the enemy territory. These FOBs should be big enough to fit at least one helicopter and 3 or 2 HMMWVs (In case of the OPFOR 2 or 3 UAZs or Military Off Roads.)They should also have supplies such as Medical Supplies,small or large repair kits and gas tanks. The Main base may only be used as a spawn point or to get vehicles or supplies. These Forward Operating Bases may not be positioned near CAPTURE POINTS neither ENEMY BASEs.And they should not be marked on the map because the enemy might see it and fire artillery at that exact location destroying the entire FOB and the individuals inside and that moment. Prisoners of WAR Prisoners of war A.K.A POWs are to be captured when the OPPOSING FORCES surrounds and outnumber friendly forces in a certain location such as a FOB. Prisoner camps should be placed and MARKED inside friendly territory away from the frontlines.The POWs are to be used as hostages by the ones who captured them. It should be noted that Prisoner camps should not be fired upon with artillery or be attacked by Aircrafts.They may only be attacked and captured by ground units. When surrounded the players that are outnumbered may drop their weapons on the ground and put their hands in the air,if they attempt to resist(which in my opinion is something very dumb) they may be shot at or stunned.When captured,they are to be escorted to the nearest FOB or Prisoner Camp where they will be kept as hostages until friendly forces capture the FOB or prisoner camp. Prisoners of war are also allowed to escape when they have a chance. Thank you for your attention -Dereck
  4. AA-12 OP?

    Now something like this used to not necessarily be a problem, as there was until now no real way to become a supporter after Bohemia's demonetization policy, but I still feel it's something that should be brought up: The AA-12. The AA-12 Shotgun in Arma 2's PMC expansion is one of the most overpowered infantry weapons to ever make it into the game. The reason for this, aside from the obvious, is the fact that while you can use pellets and slugs in such a weapon, which are already quite dangerous in the hands of anyone that knows how to peak, there's ammunition for it so dangerously Overpowered that it can single-handedly take down any armored vehicles (given enough time). This of course, is the 'High-Explosive' ammunition. HE rounds function similarly to slugs, but has an effective range of 600m on top of brandishing a very high accuracy. Each slug functions as a grenade would, and has roughly the same power. This round can devastate Light tanks in a single mag, medium tanks in 2-3, and heavy tanks in only 7. Which is absolutely insane for a foot-soldier's primary weapon. This weapon is currently sold by the Supporter weapons dealer accessible only by BLUFOR, and is clearly too powerful to be used by even VIPs, as the firepower is simply to great. Don't believe me? Well I figured you wouldn't. So I set up a few favorite tanks of friends of mine and tested them against the power of the AA-12 in the attached files. Keep in mind how much ammo I have spent in the top right corner as the images progress: In case you weren't counting, that's; M6 Linebacker = 3 magazines, M113 = 1 magazine, BMP-2 = 3 magazines, M1A2 TUSK = 8 magazines. So in closing, I believe that not just the AA-12 HE rounds should be removed from any and all vendors, but the AA-12 itself as it is simply too powerful for the game, let alone our server.
  5. Tickets

    After playing in the server for a while i have seen multiple blufor giving high price tickets, over the reasable value for what they should actually be. With this post i am trying to sugest implementing a price limit for tickets due to some players not possessing high quantaties of money in the server and to make it more reasonable.

    Change the Blufor theme to this..... very fitting given the current situation in the faction.
  7. WAR Rules

    OPFOR earlier decide that the would get a bm-21 grad and sit at the vehicle service point and bomb the shit out of BLUFOR airfield this meant we could not get any jets up as BLUFOR and if it wasn't artillery we got destroyed by the mi-24's Ka-52's su-35's shooting us the second we got out of the no kill zone. 1. my issue is that they sat at the vehicle service point so the had unlimited ammo which i see as exploiting and they was shooting across the map which made almost impossible to get to it whicch is a unfair advantage to OPFOR. 2. Camping the zone i think the airfield in the way shouldn't be used to fire from or fire into as it is camping as I see it as it is the base and it allows people to leave as its not really fun if people cant leave the airfield if they actually wanna fight OPFOR i think rules should be changed to stop this from happening

I have been playing arma2 for a long time, for rp servers it all started back in chernarus life, now this was far from perfect but even back then we could have simple communication within the cops. I have jumped from server to server since then and have learned a lot of things. For blufor to be effective people need to take things seriously and start communicating and working together. Back when I played on RISE things where not that bad because people actually played like they where supposed to. Its honestly getting very frustrating when I get on TS3 and get into the game to see people not giving two craps on what's going on around them. Simply if your in the patrol channel then do patrols, if your in CPR channel you need to be manning CPR, if your doing border operations be in the channel. Its not hard guys, also while in TS3 there is this very nice option to set hotkeys, there is nothing more annoying than hearing someone making an arrest or talking to a civ or whatever in game while still talking in TS3. Make use of the hotkeys and set one that will mute your mic and sound, simply I have mine as the up arrow and it works pretty good. Another thing is side chat, side chat should be used to communicate to other blufor about events that are happening or small questions or such, don't use it just to talk to someone in game, again that's what TS is for, if there is an emergency and you need backup then use it, otherwise its very annoying when you cant hear anything else because someone is using side chat just to talk to their buddy. This saves us from having to all be in the same TS3 channel. Its also very annoying when we have people that actually on blufor want to take things seriously and we have the select few people that come on to just screw around, examples are, causing war by killing opfor at a checkpoint for no reason, Beating civs, putting civs in jail for no reason, abusing your power and etc... Yes I know a lot of this can be fixed with whitelisting and having a test. I just wanted to bring up the topic again, and until then maybe people can start working as a team and if people start doing that I think things will start to be more enjoyable. Sorry for the rant but I wanted to vent about this topic
  9. Manning border checkpoints.

    Blufor and Opfor have been abusing this strategy and at one point they closed all the checkpoints with no one manning them, really harmful for civs and the role playing involved. If for example indeps have taken control of a checkpoint, the should be able to remove both of the barriers, dont you agree ?
  10. The current locations of the Capture zones are bad according to me and here is why. Blufor have their capture point no where near anything. It's easily defendable due to it being on the otherside of northern Takistan. So if indie or opfor wanna take it they need to move right trough a open field where they can get taken out by blufor helicopters. The indie capture point is about 700 m from their base and is defendable and attackable. And then the opfor capture zone is close to the economic heart of Opfor (Southern resources). It is about 3k away from opfor base with hills between them. What i suggest is one of 2 options a. Move opfor capture zone to timurkalay making it more of a detour for indies to capture it. b. Move blufor capture zone to Sell LSD or somewhere near there.

  12. Incompetence of Blufor

    I'm seeing a lot more of Blufor breaking rules than any other faction. There needs to be bigger deterrants for people,longer bans or something. Because right now,it seems most people could give two scheisses about getting banned.
  13. As an Independent player (most of the time), I think we can all agree that some of the vehicles that OPFOR and BLUFOR have access from the get-go are pretty overpowered. This needs to be changed. There is almost nothing an Independent can do whenever SOMEONE gets an Mi-24 or a L-39ZA. It is pretty disappointing when someone buys one of those things and destroys every single Independent that tries to make their way across the border. The server I was previously on did not have this issue as the owners agreed that it was overpowered and have had it set to be used as a martial law/war vehicle only. This is what this server lacks. Imagine, playing as an Independent loaded up with a RPK and an RPG-7 which costs around 900k, arriving 300 M away from Checkpoint Bravo only to get mowed down from an angry OPFOR with an Mi-24 from 5000 meters away. I feel this would balance the gameplay if such vehicle was not allowed when a war is not in action. BLUFOR has a different but similar story as they can purchase a HUMVEE TOW and destroy anything from crazy distances with only a press of a button with it's lock-on missile. These overpowered OPFOR and BLUFOR vehicles really need to be modified as to when you can purchase them. It just makes people want to quit and not come back when it happens, which is overall bad for the reputation of the community. I really enjoy Takistan Life, but there is always room for improvement. Thank you for taking the time to read my salty-ish post, and feel free to give your personal opinion as well. (P.S, It is okay to -1 even if you use these all the time, I understand ) VEHICLES THAT I THINK NEED BE CHANGED: Mi-24 (OPFOR) HUMVEE TOW (BLUFOR) L-39ZA (OPFOR) Edited for logical statements about some vehicles not being overpowered. List any OPFOR/BLUFOR Vehicles that you think should be changed.
  14. 1-) Bank Robbing Cooldown : So I played 4 hours as Blufor, and I have experienced a lot of bank raids. The funny Situation was the Bank gets Robbed in just 30 Seconds, Blufor doesnt even have a chance to get there. I think this cooldown should get Longer. 2-) Blufor Taking stolen Money : Blufor should not able to take the Money that just got stolen from the Bank or from anywhere, Blufor should just destroy it. 3-) Ranks and Promotions : I think the Community should get for each Faction 1 Commander. We should get Ranks into blufor like Chief of Police but this should be Ranks, not something electable. Promotions would be given by the Highest ranked Officer ( Chief of Police ). Ranks should base on Time logs. We could get a Roster where all the Members are in. For better Roleplay experience we should get a Roster at the internet site. One for Blufor, One for Opfor and One for Independent. 4-) Supervisors : Every Faction should have atleast 1 Supervisor that is been choosed by High Command.   15. Military Medics

    Possibly add a Blufor/Opfor (Maybe Indep) Medic Skin/Slot that sacrifices half of the inventory and the ability to hold a Rocket Launcher for the ability to heal yourself and others without a medikit. Given as Blu and Op are Military Forces,I would assume they would have combat medics ready. Just a suggestion tho.
